Maxson Family Farms – 5 Generations Of Sustainable Agriculture in the Willamette Valley

The Maxson family has been pioneering multi-crop, sustainable agriculture in the fertile Willamette Valley for more than 100 years.

As farmers, our livelihood depends on our passionate commitment to land stewardship, generation after generation. Maxson Family Farms actively monitors soil and water quality to ensure that vital minerals and nutrients are present in the right places so our crops thrive but run-off and soil erosion are minimized.

Living on the very land we farm, we have grown to love and appreciate the wide variety of birds, deer and waterfowl that call our farmstead home as well. In 2005, in partnership with The Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) and with help from an NRCS cost share program, we created 25 new acres of dedicated wetland, pond and riparian habitat to help support the thousands of migrating waterfowl that land in our fields each spring.

Did You Know? Oregon wheat producers raise primarily soft white wheat, which makes the best pastries, cakes, pretzels, cookies and the Asian noodles we know as ramen.

100% Weed-Free Seed & Forage Products

From Rye Grass and Fescue to Orchard Grass and Wheat, we deliver weed-free seed for domestic or export use. After harvest, we bail weed-free straw which can be used for traditional bedding purposes or for alternative purposes such as construction erosion control were invasive weeds are problematic.
